Pleasanton and surrounding Tri-Valley offers spring activities from wildflowers to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations

With spring coming to Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley, visitors flock to Northern California to enjoy the mild weather, a multitude of festivals, and the wonderful wildflowers in full bloom across the region. The Rose Hotel offers visitors a luxurious place to stay while exploring all the Bay Area has to offer this time of year.

Take a walk on the wildflower side

March is an ideal time to view a lush array of wildflowers blooming in northern California, and Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park is one of the top spots for this scenery. Get your cameras ready, pack plenty of water, and head out to the Courdet, Valley View, Iron Horse regional trails among others offering beautiful views.

The All Trails site is a great resource that lists the best wildflower trails, and the site tells you how to access the trailheads and how to find a hike or bike route for your level of fitness. There are also reviews from other hikers who share their firsthand experiences so you have a firm idea of what to expect.

Get out your green and say sláinte to St. Patrick’s Day events

St. Patrick’s Day events will be back this year in many forms in Pleasanton, nearby (and festively named) Dublin, and beyond. Our number one recommendation is the Pleasanton Downtown St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl from 6 to 9 p.m. March 17. Our hotel is ideally situated so you can park for free and stroll safely through the streets to enjoy all of our local participating pubs and restaurants!

Another fun choice is the 38th Annual Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Celebration March 11-12. The event will feature three stages of music and Irish dance, authentic Irish food and beverages, more than 250 fine arts and commercial vendors (including an Irish Marketplace), roaming leprechauns and bagpipers, carnival rides, a petting zoo, Irish Tea Cottage and more. If you want to work off some of that corned beef, sign up for the Shamrock 5K fun run and walk on March 13.

Also on March 12, the Firehouse Arts Center will host the Real Irish Comedy Fest, a blast of blarney and Irish laughter just in time for the big day.

Get blinded by science at the Tri-Valley innovation fair

Quest Science Center’s Tri-Valley Innovation Fair 2022 on March 19 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds will take science and learning to a new level, transforming the Alameda County Fairgrounds into the venue that will showcase the best of Tri-Valley innovation in the STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and math.

Designed to bring science and technology to life through fun and interactive activities, exhibits and program sessions, the fair will appeal to a diverse audience including families, educators, students and curious minds.

Enjoy music, motors and more

In addition to these top picks, in March we have musical performances ranging from opera to the Everly Brothers; Barrel Tasting Weekend at Livermore wineries, a Goodguys All-American Get Together car show, and much more.

And we’re looking forward to the return of Weekends on Main beginning and concerts in the park … stay tuned for more details on those, and please come and see us! Our friendly staff is eager to help you plan your perfect stay.
