Explore Northern California’s best beer and wine trails and more in the Tri-Valley
The path to good wines
For the aspiring sommelier, the Livermore Valley Wine Loop offers an opportunity to get in some exercise while enjoying the local wine culture. This 5.2-mile path takes you on a tour of five wineries and Da Boccery, a restaurant offering barbecue and more on the menu. In addition to being a great place to finish your wine tour with a delicious meal, Da Boccery offers bocce, shuffleboard, axe throwing and more entertainment options to enjoy with family and friends.
The trail’s loop style offers a customizable path through Dante Robere Vineyards, Cora Vina Wine, Tenuta Vineyards, Fenestra Winery and Ruby Hill Winery. Enjoy the vast variety of wines on offer as well as the beautiful scenery. With so many wineries to explore, you’ll find something for everyone, whether you’re more into full-bodied reds or sweet whites.
Beer lovers’ trail
For those more into hops and the distinct taste of craft beer, the Tri-Valley Beer Trail is ready for you to explore its offerings. Beer aficionados can try beer at four breweries in the area and earn points for their visits using their phones’ GPS systems, complete with the ability to increase point earnings by visiting the same location multiple times. Once you earn enough points, you can trade them in for Tri-Valley Beer Trail-branded prizes, including a hat, T-shirt, glass or growler.
When you’ve got your passport for the beer trail downloaded from the webpage, it’s time to check out the four participating locations: Danville Brewing Company in Danville; First Street Alehouse and Altamont Beer Works in Livermore; and Beer Baron Bar and Kitchen in Pleasanton.
Aside from our fabulous beer and wine trails, check out some of our exciting events going on in the Tri-Valley while you’re here.
Patriotic Celebrations
To honor Independence Day, the Tri-Valley celebrates events throughout the region, and 2025 is no exception. The Kiwanis Danville 4th of July Parade is back for its 50th anniversary Friday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. running between San Ramon Valley High School and Town and Country Drive along Hartz Avenue.
Featuring more than 125 floats, community groups, bands, specialty vehicles and elected officials, this patriotic parade’s theme this year is “50 years of Community Service.” The event is free for the public to attend.
In Livermore, the Fourth of July Celebration takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Livermore Municipal Airport. The event features a close and personal look at military aircraft and emergency vehicles as well as radio control aircraft demonstrations.
Food trucks, live music, information booths and a kids’ zone with a variety of family-friendly activities will also all be on offer. The event is free for the public to attend.
Those looking for a patriotic concert to honor Independence Day will find it in Pleasanton. From noon to 1:30 p.m., the Pleasanton Community Concert Band will perform classic American tunes at their free July 4 Celebration for the public at Lions Wayside Park.
More to see and do
If you’re looking for events beyond those themed to the July 4 holiday, the Tri-Valley has plenty in store for you as well. Shakespeare in the Vineyards is back this summer, performed by SPARC Theater at Darcie Kent Vineyards in Livermore. This year, SPARC will perform “Sir John Falstaff and the Merry Wives of Windsor” on various Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday dates between July 3 and 27, all at 7:30 p.m.
In this classic play by William Shakespeare, knight Sir John Falstaff aims to impress two married women to fulfill his own romantic desires. He fails spectacularly in numerous ways in this comedic play.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy Darcie Kent’s award-winning wines while seeing the play on the vineyard’s breathtaking outdoor vineyard stage. Tickets cost $19.25 to $64.25 before service fees and are for sale on SPARC Theater’s website.
If you’d like to enjoy even more of the area’s beautiful vineyard scenery while listening to live music in the Tri-Valley, the Sunset Concert featuring Crawdad Republic on Saturday, July 12 at McGrail Vineyards in Livermore is ready to serenade you with bluegrass and folk sounds from 6 to 9 p.m. Food vendors will be onsite serving up Mexican dishes and gelato to satisfy your hunger.
The concert takes place on the vineyards’ grassy front lawn area, so blankets or chairs are recommended. Guests under 21 are permitted, though they will not be allowed to drink McGrail’s great wines. Tickets are $30 per person for those 21 and older or $10 per person for those under 21 and are available on Tock.
Those visiting the following week will have the opportunity to celebrate summer the tropical way with Hula Palooza, the Livermore Wine Trolley’s Hawaiian-themed wine tour on Saturday, July 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. Featuring stops at two local wineries, the trolley then takes attendees to a Hawaiian-style buffet with live performances featuring traditional Polynesian dances and music, hula dance lessons, a hula hoop contest to display your new hula skills, and a competition for the best island-inspired outfit.
Tickets are $152.99 per person before service fees and are available on the Livermore Wine Trolley website.
