We all scream for ice cream on the Tri-Valley Ice Cream Trail
In fact, Visit Tri-Valley has put together a list known as the Tri-Valley Ice Cream Trail to help you plan a route through the region. Whether you want to check out all 13 places on the list or choose the ones that sound best to you, the Tri-Valley Ice Cream Trail is waiting for you to enjoy the best ice cream in Northern California.
In Pleasanton, home of the Rose Hotel, which offers European-inspired accommodation in a boutique hotel setting, you’ll find four of the businesses listed on the trail. Three of them are within walking distance of the Rose Hotel, making them excellent options for those staying with us for vacation.
Nearby, you’ll find Meadowlark Dairy, Icicles and Almare Gelato Italiano, all in downtown Pleasanton. Meadowlark is a longtime local business offering drive-through and walk-up options for a variety of frozen treats, including numerous ice cream flavors. Icicles specializes in rolled ice cream inspired by desserts found in Asia, while Almare is owned by Italian immigrants and makes gelato in the classic style of their home country. Hanna’s Chocolates, located in Pleasanton a short drive from the Rose Hotel, offers a wide selection of ice cream flavors and locally made colorful chocolates crafted with care.
In nearby Dublin, you’ll find trail stops Kwality Ice Cream and Mimi’s Chocolates. Kwality Ice Cream sells natural ice cream products that include traditional cones, cups, ice cream cakes, and milkshakes as well as options infusing Italian and Indian inspirations. Mimi’s Chocolates has something for everyone with fruity and chocolatey ice cream flavors, along with many options of locally made chocolate treats.
The city of Livermore has multiple stores on the Tri-Valley Ice Cream trail as well, including Verace Gelato, Loard’s and Paleteria y Neveria Mi Lindo Michoacán. Verace offers natural gelato, while Loard’s is a community staple of 75 years serving dozens of ice cream and sherbet flavors. Paleteria y Neveria Mi Lindo Michoacán offers ice cream in a traditional Hispanic style, such as paletas, ice cream bars, classic scoops and more.
The final city on the Tri-Valley Ice Cream Trail, Danville, has Lottie’s Creamery, Danville Chocolates, Yersen Gelato and Republic of Cake for adventurous dessert enthusiasts to check out. Lottie’s Creamery focuses on creating small batches of artisan ice cream with high-quality ingredients and unique flavors, such as Nutmeg Apricot Crumble and vegan Pear Prosecco Sorbet. In addition to eight flavors of ice cream, Danville Chocolates sells locally made treats such as dipped fruit, chocolate bark, truffles and more. Yersen Gelato specializes in both traditional scoops of gelato and specially made gelato cakes. Lastly, Republic of Cake has a variety of ice cream flavors, floats, and ice cream sandwiches, as well as cookies, cakes, brownies and even sandwiches for lunch before dessert.
