St. Patrick’s celebrations begin early and carry throughout the week that includes March 17.

Downtown Pleasanton’s 13th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl on March 14 invites guests to stroll Main Street where they can sample craft beer from participating businesses. Minutes away, Dublin embraces its namesake with its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival on March 14, as well as a multi-day celebration featuring colorful floats, Irish dancers, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. It’s one of the region’s most vibrant heritage celebrations that encompasses a Firefighters Pancake Breakfast, a 5K Fun Run & Walk, and the Shamrock Gala on March 13. In Livermore, the LepreCON is a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl across town (ages 21 and older only) that starts at 3 p.m. More than a dozen local downtown restaurants are participating. For adults, the Celtic band Charmas performs from 3-6 p.m. March 14 at Homegrown Hops Brewing Company in Livermore. The group features local musicians Patrick Russ and Elize Ferrell. The free concert will celebrate Irish folk music that blends fiddle, spry Irish flute, warbling whistles, rich vocal harmonies, and a driving rhythm section into an immersive Celtic concert experience.


Wine Country in Early Bloom

March is also an ideal time to explore Livermore Valley Wine Country before the busy pace of summer begins.

Many wineries host seasonal celebrations and spring releases, including festive St. Patrick’s-themed tastings at properties like
McGrail Vineyards, where live music and estate wines are paired with sweeping valley views.

The Showstopper Dance Competition, taking place March 6–8 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, brings performers and families from across the state for a high-energy weekend of talent and competition. For automotive enthusiasts, the Goodguys 42nd All American Get-Together returns March 28–29 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, ending a fantastic month of Tri-Valley arts and entertainment. The beloved Bunny Hop Egg Hunt for returns for the seventh year on April 4, inviting families to explore Main Street shops in search of treats and surprises in a cheerful, community-centered celebration. Event details can be found at the
Pleasanton Downtown Association’s website. Children ages 10 and younger are invited to join the hunt from 10 a.m. to noon, starting at the Museum on Main. Parents will be harmed with clues to help the children on the scavenger hunt through downtown.

April also brings major performances to the Tri-Valley arts scene, including the Livermore-Amador Symphony’s Spring Awakenings concert and The Wizard of Oz on Ice at the Bankhead Theater — ideal additions if your spring stay extends into the first week of the month.
