The Rose Hotel Blog

Something to share, something to save

August 31, 2010 | (1) Comments

As the Rose Hotel moves more deeply into the social media culture we have added a new Share/Save widget to the Rosebuds blog.

It appears at the bottom of every page, including this one. Its purpose is to make it convenient for you to share this blog’s content with friends and colleagues, or to save it for future reference.

Just pass your cursor over the Share/Save widget and a box pops open offering an array of options, ranging from social media sites (such as Twitter and Facebook) to social bookmarking sites (such as Delicious and Reddit).

If you read other blogs you’ve probably seen the Share/Save widget before. It’s a popular one and for good reason, it makes it easy to spread the best blog posts to others, who can in turn easily share it with even more people.

This latest capability we’ve added to our blog is very much in keeping with internet culture – which is highly referral based, highly peer-to-peer.

With devices such as the Share/Save widget the best blog posts spread quickly. This means the best information is widely distributed. It’s called “going viral” because hot blog posts tend to spread exponentially, like a virus.

You’re invited to use our Share/Save widget and use it often. Maybe you like this posting and know someone who would be interested.

We will strive to populate Rosebuds with content worthy of sharing.

I’ve traveled all over the world, and The Rose Hotel ranks in the top three hotels in which I have stayed. I spent a lot of time in my room because it’s the way you would like your own home to be. The breakfast was exceptional and the quiet main street of Pleasanton is delightful. The nearby restaurants are the best. Thanks to everyone at The Rose Hotel who made my stay so memorable.
