Join us for a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration
As our guests well know, The Rose Hotel is in Pleasanton, California. We’re also fortunate that one of our neighboring cities is Dublin, named after Ireland’s largest city.

Like any good city of Irish roots and associations, Dublin knows how to party for St. Patrick’s Day. In fact, it’s getting a jump on the holiday by holding its 2011 holiday celebration Saturday and Sunday, March 12-13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – well ahead of St. Patrick’s official date of March 17.
We didn’t want this occasion to pass without alerting you to the festivities, which will be held at the Dublin Civic Center. The two-day outdoor soiree features:
>> A St. Patrick’s Day parade
>> Carnival rides
>> 150 booths occupied by artists, craftsmen and other vendors
>> Three stages featuring a lineup of authentic Irish music and dance performances
>> Food and drink
>> An Irish Tea Cottage
>> A Celtic harpist
>> Storytelling
>> A family-friendly atmosphere
This will be a memorable and authentic Irish experience. Both admittance and parking are free of charge. Just come to 100 Civic Plaza to join the revelry. For more information, call 925-556-4500. The city’s official webpage for the celebration can be found by clicking here.
Looking for even more green? Friday, March 11 is the Green & White Gala. Irish Happy Hour starts at 6 p.m., dinner is served at 7 p.m. The event takes place at the Dublin Senior Center, 7600 Amador Valley Boulevard. Tickets for the gala are $65 per person and reservations may be made by calling 925-829-4758.
A pancake breakfast will be served March 12, 7 a.m. at Fire Station #16, 7494 Donohue Drive. The fundraising breakfast is just $5 per person and green pancakes are on the menu.
Come and be Irish for a day or two.
