A grape escape for our guests
Northern California and winemaking are synonymous – and cause for celebration.
For those of you who appreciate the crushed grape, a good time, and a tradition so enduring it’s been 30 years in the making, you won’t have to venture very far from The Rose Hotel this Labor Day weekend. The Harvest Wine Festival makes its annual return on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 4-5.
The festivities take place just minutes from the hotel – and you don’t have to be a drinker to participate and have fun, because the schedule of events includes live music, food and art vendors representing many different mediums.

This 30th annual celebration showcases historic Livermore Valley Wine Country during the peak of harvest season. More than 40 wineries will be sharing their wines and hospitality.
On Sunday, complimentary shuttle buses ferry guests to more than 40 wineries, where celebrants will enjoy wine tasting, music, food, art, wine discounts, and more. Guests can also choose to drive themselves to participating vineyards.
On Monday, guests can enjoy a more intimate day at the wineries as each winery will offer wine tasting and unique activities like winemaker discussions, bottling your own wines, barrel tastings, and so on. (There are no complimentary shuttles on Monday.)
A two-day ticket is $55 when purchased in advance, or $65 purchased the day of. A Sunday-only ticket is $45 in advance, $50 the day of, and Monday-only tickets are $40 each in advance, $45 the day of.

Though less well known than its neighboring wine regions in Napa and Sonoma counties, the Livermore Valley has come into its own and is building a national reputation. A little known fact is that the Livermore Valley is home to California’s oldest continuously operating family-owned winery, Wente Vineyards, originally known as Wente Brothers Vineyard when founded in 1883.
And Wente is just one of many participating wineries. The full list of wineries numbers more than 40.
